Logo Design: Empowerment in Femininity

I’m in the process of designing my own personal logo and I’m starting to notice some themes in my work. At first I was playing around with a cursive style with just my initials but I drifted into my usual doodles. But with my recent Persephone design for the Cor Hotel and classical busts research for the Federal Dining Room, I noticed some striking similarities.

Materiality

These material studies are from my IDS 106 Rendering Class. I hadn’t really used a lot of colored pencils before so it was bit of trial and error. I did several looser sketches and values charts to understand how to blend and handle them. Also I tried them out on different types of paper like Bristol, Toned Gray, Watercolor, and Artist’s Board. But I enjoyed it despite the struggle and I want to learn how to render other materials like leather, tile, stucco, etc.

A trip down memory lane

It’s so funny seeing where you’ve come from. In organizing my portfolio I went through almost 10 years of creative work.

It’s interesting to see your evolution and the shifts and journeys.
