pickled kiwi
concept
In this current project I am designing the headquarters and flagship brewery for Pickled Kiwi. I developed the concept, name, logo, and tagline for this brand. Before researching and designing for a brewery I confess I wasn’t the biggest fan of beer. I found the crispness of ciders agreeable, so I looked into their production and was fascinated by the process. For Pickled Kiwi I envision a brewery that is pushing the limits on what defines beer by incorporating fruits. They explore how different fruits adds acidity, crispness, & tartness to beer’s malty flavor. So their brews are” unexpected, but tasty”. With this I wanted to comment on society’s acceptance and rejection on certain fermented items. For instance, people not familiar with the Southern tradition of pickled watermelon rinds might find it strange, but not fermenting grapes for wine. But truly there is no limit and there are so many flavors to explore.
So, the Office spaces allows openness and experimentation for the Production, Marketing, Executive, and Administration departments to explore and innovative. There are closed offices for management and private cubicles for staff, but the office encourages collaboration and flexibility. Specially to make small spaces most efficient I customized multi-functional pieces for hot desks, dining, and meetings.
In the brewery I wanted a flashy and energetic environment that lets you express everything you’ve bottled up all day. Music evokes these powerful emotion and singing is the expression of that. So customers get to sing their heart out at the main Karaoke stage and in private rooms for special events. And when not singing there are several intimate area that allows people to mingle.
